Sardines and sallad beans, in the shopping trolley
pour them in, a simmering din and up the spit will volley
olden oaks and garden folks alike
they all know the sound of a sardine
sardines, yes
a sardine does, and without much desire
swim through the ocean, and from time to time
pick a morsel from the water around it
and from time to time,
probably more often than not
a sardine is taken or eaten or taken then eaten
by a predator, fish four legged or one that on legs stands two
sardines and lonely beans together are eaten by all
but i myself not so fond of the fish
would eat a bean upon a whim,
straight from the vine, or one packaged after freezing
they are rather helpful when one catches themself wheezing ;)
but in time do we think
that like the ancient skink,
these animals and plants may one day be gone?
will they be remembered, or thought of only by the soil that once bore them
ask yourself this, do you see their existence worthwhile?
do they serve divine purpose?
but then again, do you?
you too will be forgotten
and like the sardine, or the mighty stalk bean
you will not be remembered, by you nor those surrounding
then you may say, but a sardine and i
in common not much we do have!
but i say, NAY
for ye and for yae, we all are the same and one same is alike
the universe itself will be gone and forgotten
in a stream of existence and all that is rotten
then again you may say,
if you see things this way
take out the easy way
for we time not have to hear a sour man crying
but i argue once more,
that even in "death"
your existence prevails, not in your conscious
but in your matter
and you matter does matter
for existence is futile and resistance is nigh
but for you i shall put down harsh words tonight
run away if you can
but the faster you run
only closer you come
closer you come
and closer you go
from the truth you run from
and the lies you run to
now you see with your eyes
why we beleive the lies
about life and ill meant meanings
that each fool believes in
for peace of mind is worth more to the masses
than to see through clear glasses
the truth that hides in your own heart
but the truth like your mind
is bent only by you
and you may have the power if you
hard enough try
to change the truth
with that little mind of yours
